Grugies is a French commune with 1,355 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Aisne department in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Quentin and the canton of Saint-Quentin-3 (until 2015: canton of Saint-Simon ).
geography
Grugies is located about four kilometers south-southwest of Saint-Quentin in the Noyonnais . Grugies is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Quentin in the north and north-west, Gauchy in the north, Urvillers in the east, Essigny-le-Grand in the south and Castres in the west and south-west.
The A26 autoroute runs along the northern edge of the municipality .
