Pontru is a French municipality with 251 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Aisne department in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Quentin and the canton of Saint-Quentin-1 (until 2015: canton of Vermand ).
geography
Pontru is about eight kilometers northwest of Saint-Quentin . Pontru is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villeret in the north, Bellicourt in the northeast, Pontruet in the east, Gricourt in the south and southeast, Maissemy in the south and southwest and Le Verguier in the west.
