Le Gua is a southwestern French municipality with 2097 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Rochefort and the canton of Marennes . The inhabitants are called Guatais .
geography
Le Gua is located on the salt marshes and the estuary of the Seudre in the Atlantic Ocean in the historic Saintonge landscape . Le Gua is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Sornin in the north, Sainte-Gemme in the northeast, Nancras in the east and northeast, Sablonceaux in the east, Saujon and L'Éguille in the south, Mornac-sur-Seudre and Breuillet in the southwest, and Chaillevette in the west and Nieulle-sur-Seudre in the north-west.

Attractions
- Saint-Laurent church, already mentioned in 1047, built in the 11th or 12th century, significantly rebuilt in the 19th century, monument historique since 1951
- Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens church (Petri chains) in the Dercie district from the 12th century
