The women's high jump at the 2016 European Athletics Championships was held on July 6th and 7th, 2016 in the Olympic Stadium in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam .
The European champion was the Spanish World Cup third in 2013, Ruth Beitia , who won her third European title in a row here after 2012 and 2014 . The silver medal was awarded twice because of equality of height and equality even after the failed attempt rule, namely to the Bulgarian Mirela Demirewa and Airinė Palšytė from Lithuania .

qualification
July 6, 2016, 11:00 a.m.
26 participants competed in two groups for the qualification round. The qualification height for direct entry into the final was 1.92 m. Four athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled to twelve jumpers with the eight next-placed athletes, some of whom did not even complete their attempts after it was clear that their jumped height was sufficient (highlighted in light green). All athletes who had mastered 1.89 m in the second attempt at the latest were in the final the next day.
