List of Members of the Lower Austrian Parliament (XV legislative period)

This list of the members of the Lower Austrian Parliament (XV legislative period) lists all members of the Lower Austrian Parliament during the XIV legislative period, which ran from April 16, 1998 to April 24, 2003. On April 16, 1998, the state parliament elected the state government Pröll III .

After the state elections on March 22, 1998 , 27 of the 56 seats went to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), 18 seats to the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), 9 seats to the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) and 2 seats to the Greens (Greens ). After the Liberal Forum left the 1998 elections, the Greens made it into the state parliament for the first time. The FPÖ was able to achieve its best result so far by winning two mandates, the ÖVP also won an additional mandate, while the SPÖ lost two mandates.

Functions

Landtag Presidium

The office of the President of the Landtag was held by Edmund Freibauer , member of the ÖVP . The second President of the State Parliament was Heidemaria Onodi (SPÖ), who resigned from office on April 19, 2001. She was replaced on the same day by her party colleague Emil Schabl . The third president of the state parliament was Johann Penz (ÖVP).
