List of islands of the Aegean Sea

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of islands in the Aegean Sea . The Aegean islands have mainland Greece to the west and north and Turkey to the east. They are grouped into different archipelagos. The German names sometimes differ from the modern Greek , e.g. B. Salamis instead of modern Greek Σαλαμίνα Salamina . In the following overview, common German names and the modern Greek names are given. The following list attempts to capture the largest (inhabited) islands, but is not intended to be exhaustive.
