Luigi "Lou" Macari (born June 7, 1949 in Largs ) is a former Scottish football player and manager.
Athletic career
The midfielder began his career at Celtic Glasgow . In 1972 he moved to Manchester United , where he played a total of 329 league games until 1984, in which he scored 78 goals. At the end of his playing career he went to Swindon Town , for which he scored 3 goals in 36 league games.
For the Scottish national team he ran from May 24, 1972 to June 7, 1978 a total of 24 times and scored 5 goals. He was also part of the 1978 World Cup.
After the end of his career at Swindon Town, he stayed with this club, now as a manager. The other stations in this profession were West Ham United , Birmingham City , Stoke City (twice), Celtic Glasgow and Huddersfield Town .
