Bounded to the north by Ribera de Arriba , Oviedo and Langreo , to the south by Lena and Aller to the west by Morcín and Riosa to the east by San Martín del Rey Aurelio and Laviana . Mieres is located on the Caudal River .

history

A few finds confirm a human settlement during the Roman occupation . The most important document from this period is the letter of a Lucius Corona Severus (soldier) of the Legio VII Gemina which is exhibited in the Archaeological Museum in Oviedo . In 857 King Ordoño I donated a church during a stay.
