Location of the municipality

Ponga is a municipality in the autonomous region of Asturias in northern Spain . Bounded to the north by Piloña and Parres , to the south by León , to the west by Piloña and Caso to the east by Amieva .
The municipality located in the judicial district of Cangas de Onís with San Juan de Beleño as the seat of the municipal administration has an area of 205.98 km² with the Peña Ten (2,142 m) as the highest elevation.

history

Through archaeological finds colonization is already in the Bronze Age proven. Celtic tribes have also left their mark, as in the names of the Parroquias:
