Cudillero (officially Cuideiru in Asturian ) is a municipality in the Autonomous Region of Asturias in northern Spain . Bounded to the north by the Cantabrian Sea , to the south by Salas , to the west by Valdés and to the east by Muros de Nalón . The city of Cudillero is the administrative seat of the municipality of the same name in the judicial district of Pravia . The highest point in the municipality is El Picón with a height of 785 meters above sea level .
history
According to a legend , the city was founded by the Vikings . What is certain, however, is a significantly earlier settlement in the Stone Age . A completely independent dialect , the so-called Pixueto , is spoken in Cudillero . Remains of ramparts confirm the presence of the Celts / Visigoths in any case .
