Monteils ( Occitan : Montelhs ) is a French commune with 1,361 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . Monteils belongs to the arrondissement of Montauban and the canton of Quercy-Rouergue (until 2015: canton of Caussade ). The inhabitants are called Monteillais .

geography

Monteils is located on the Lère River ( called Lère Morte here ) in the Quercy . Monteils is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Caussade in the north, west and south, Septfonds in the east and Saint-Cirq in the southeast.
