Bessens is a French commune with 1,506 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Montauban and is part of the canton of Montech (until 2015: canton of Grisolles ). The inhabitants are called Bessinois .

Bessens is located about 16 kilometers southwest of Montauban and about 34 kilometers north-northwest of Toulouse on the Canal des Deux Mers . Bessens is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Monbéqui in the north and north-west, Montbartier in the north and north-east, Campsas in the east, Dieupentale in the south and south-east and Verdun-sur-Garonne in the west and south-west.
The former route nationale 113 (today's D813) runs through the municipality .
