Caylus (formerly: Caylus-Bonette ; Occitan : Cailutz ) is a French commune with 1,446 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitania region . The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montauban and is part of the canton of Quercy-Rouergue (until 2015: canton of Caylus ). The inhabitants are called Caylusiens .

Geographical location

Caylus is about 41 kilometers northeast of Montauban . Caylus is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Loze and Lacapelle-Livron in the north, Parisot in the east and northeast, Ginals in the east and southeast, Espinas and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south, Lavaurette in the southwest, Puylaroque in the west and Mouillac in the northwest.

The former Route nationale 126 runs through the municipality .
