Réalville ( Occitan : Realvila ) is a French commune with 1,910 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . Réalville belongs to the arrondissement of Montauban and the canton of Quercy-Aveyron (until 2015: canton of Caussade ). The inhabitants are called Réalvillois .
geography
Réalville is located on the Lère River ( called Lère Morte here ), which flows into the Aveyron at the southwestern end of the municipality . Réalville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Vincent-d'Autéjac in the north, Caussade in the northeast, Bioule in the east and southeast, Cayrac in the south, Albias in the southwest and Mirabel in the west.
The Autoroute A20 and the former Route nationale 20 (today's D820) run through the municipality .
history
The Bastide Réalville was founded in 1311 by Philip IV . The Saint-Marcel monastery was founded here as early as 1130 (Cistercian monastery from 1175, destroyed around 1596 and rebuilt in 1607), probably closed in 1790 and later removed. Today a castle built in 1870 stands here.
