Canals is located about 18 kilometers south-southwest of Montauban on the Garonne Lateral Canal . Canals is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dieupentale in the north and north-west, Campsas in the north-east, Fabas in the east, Fronton in the south and south-east and Grisolles in the south and south-west. The A62 car route runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .
