NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award
The AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award is the award for the best player of Defense ( Defense ) in a season of American US American football -Liga National Football League (NFL). The NFL Defensive Player of the Year nomination is carried out annually by the Associated Press (AP). In addition to the Associated Press, the Newspaper Enterprise Association (NEA) also awarded a prize for the best defender of the year from 1966 to 1996. The title represents a high honor and increases the reputation of a player. The award is considered to be the most important award to a defender by the American press. This does not involve automatic admission to the Pro Football Hall of Fame . However, many players who received this honor were inducted into the NFL's Hall of Fame after their active careers .
