NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award
The National Football League (NFL) Comeback Player of the Year Award is an honor that has been made annually in American football since 1972 .
Eligible to vote
The Associated Press (AP) has been responsible for awarding the award since 1998 . All AP sports journalists are entitled to vote. The award is given to the player who has suspended his career in the previous game year or had to suspend due to a serious injury (long-term) or whose performance in the previous year was insufficient.
Effects
The prize is not associated with the presentation of a sum of money and / or a trophy. It only increases the player's reputation and market value and is reflected in the NFL's record books. It can be helpful in nominations for the Pro Football Hall of Fame .
