Mauritius took part in the Summer Olympic Games in 1996 for the fourth time in the Summer Olympic Games . The team consisted of 26 athletes, of which 21 were men and five were women. They competed in six sports in 23 competitions. The youngest participant was the athlete Arnaud Casquette at 18 years and 109 days, the oldest was Ajay Chuttoo at 30 years and 265 days, who also started in athletics. During the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996, Khemraj Naïko carried the Mauritius flag into the Olympic Stadium.
