The Nemzeti Bajnokság ( German : National Championship , abbreviation: NB I. ) is the first football league in Hungary , which has been played since 1901. Since the 2011/12 season the championship has been named after the main sponsor OTP Bank Liga .
The current title holder (2019/20) is Ferencváros Budapest , who have also won 31 titles. This is followed by the city rival MTK with 23 championship wins.
mode
There are currently 12 teams playing in a triple round for the Hungarian championship. The placement criteria for teams with equal points are a special feature: if two or more clubs have the same number of points, the next classification is not based on the higher goal difference or the direct comparison , but first according to the higher number of wins. Only when these are also the same does the better goal difference decide.
