Waldesruh is a district of the community of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in the administrative district of Arnsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The district is located in a side valley of the river valley of the Großer Klagebach, northwest of Klagebach on the street of the same name Waldesruh .

history

Waldesruh emerged in the mid-20th century and was initially part of the community Hülscheid in office Lüdenscheid in county Altena . The place does not appear on the TK25 measuring table sheets until the 1942 edition, from the 1963 edition it is marked as Waldesruh .

In 1969, the municipalities of Hülscheid and Schalksmühle were merged to form an unofficial municipality ( unitary municipality ) of Schalksmühle in the Altena district and Waldesruh has since been politically part of Schalksmühle, which in 1975 became part of the newly created Märkisches Kreis due to the Sauerland / Paderborn law .

In the second half of the 20th century the residential development of the place spread along the street Waldesruh mainly uphill towards the stable house, which in turn experienced a considerable increase in area through new building areas in the direction of Waldesruh. Today both places form a contiguous settlement area.
