Épaux-Bézu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bonnesvalyn in the north and north-west, Grisolles in the north and north-east, Bézu-Saint-Germain in the east, Château-Thierry in the south and south-east, Étrépilly in the south, Belleau in the south-west and Monthiers in the west.

In 1851 Épaux and Bézu-les-Fèves were merged to form today's municipality.
