Monthiers is a French municipality with 161 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Thierry and is part of the canton of Villers-Cotterêts . The inhabitants are known as Monthiérois (es) .

geography

The community, around twelve kilometers west-northwest of Château-Thierry , lies on the Clignon , which forms a left tributary of the Ourcq . The locality of Pétret belongs to it.

Neighboring municipalities are Priez and Sommelans in the north, Bonnesvalyn and Épaux-Bézu in the east, Torcy-en-Valois in the south and Licy-Clignon and Courchamps in the west.
