Azy-sur-Marne is a French commune with a population of 389 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Thierry and the municipality of Région de Château-Thierry . The community has had the suffix -sur-Marne since 1939. The residents call themselves Azyciens .
geography
Azy-sur-Marne is halfway between Paris and Reims on the right (north) bank of the Marne . Azy-sur-Marne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Essômes-sur-Marne in the north, Chézy-sur-Marne in the south, Romeny-sur-Marne in the southwest and Bonneil in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are three farms (mainly grain cultivation) and 37 winegrowers in the municipality. The vines on the slopes above the Marne in Azy, which are mainly planted with Pinot Meunier (Black Riesling), belong to the Vallée de la Marne area at the western end of the Champagne wine-growing region .
The D 969 trunk road from Château-Thierry to Charly-sur-Marne , which follows the right bank of the Marne, runs through the municipality of Azy -sur-Marne . Ten kilometers north of Azy-sur-Marne there is a connection to the A 4 autoroute from Paris to Strasbourg . The Chézy-sur-Marne station on the left-hand side of the Marne is on one of the Parisian suburban railway lines ( Transilien ).
