Armentières-sur-Ourcq is a French municipality with 103 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Thierry and is part of the canton of Villers-Cotterêts . The inhabitants are known as Armentiérois (es) .
geography
Located around 19 kilometers (on the road) off the D1 departmental road north of Château-Thierry and eleven kilometers west of Fère-en-Tardenois , with the exception of the groups of houses by Moulin Noël and Confavreux, the municipality is south of the Ourcq , in which the Ruisseau stream is here Garnier opens; The La Haye group of houses also belongs to the community. The railway line from La Ferté-Milon to Bazoches-sur-Vesles runs through the municipality, where it meets the line from Soissons to Reims . The western border of the municipality to the neighboring municipalities of La Croix-sur-Ourcq and Breny forms a route of the old Chaussée Brunehaut with the bridges Ponts Bernard from the turn of the 17th to the 18th century.

A settlement from the La Tène period was found in the local area , as well as a cemetery from the Merovingian period. The Chaussée Brunehaut goes back to Roman times.

Attractions
- The castle dates back to the 13th century; it has been classified as a Monument historique since 1921 ( Base Mérimée PA00115506) and has been partially ruinous since the First World War .
