Courtemont-Varennes is a French municipality with 333 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (former Region: Picardie ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Thierry and is part of the canton of Essômes-sur-Marne (formerly: canton of Condé-en-Brie ).
geography
The community is about ten kilometers east of Château-Thierry on the south bank of the Marne in an arch of the river. It is crossed by the D1003 département road. The railway line from Château-Thierry to Dormans and on to Épernay runs through them . It borders Reuilly-Sauvigny to the east . Beyond the Marne, from the east, Passy-sur-Marne , Barzy-sur-Marne and Jaulgonne , all with extensive viticulture, as well as Chartèves ; to Jaulgonne there is a road connection by means of a bridge over the Marne. Mézy-Moulins lies down the Marne .
