The A Summer's Tale is an open-air festival in Eventpark Luhmuehlen in the Lueneburg Heath connects the concerts with various workshops and other cultural offerings. Unlike other music festivals, it is also aimed at families. It is organized by the Hamburg event company FKP Scorpio .

Program and concept

Part of the event concept is to actively involve visitors in the festival. Therefore, in addition to the concerts, visitors can take part in creative workshops, readings or discussions on various topics. The music program includes international artists, and visitors can also attend various performances such as theater or live radio plays on several smaller stages. In addition, there are activities for children, which should make the festival particularly attractive for families. Another focus of the program is film screenings, which are followed by background discussions with the filmmakers. In the first year, director Jan-Ole Gerster and lead actor Tom Schilling were guests for the screening of Oh Boy .

The festival is to be closely linked to the region. To this end, the operators cooperate with companies from the region, whose products are integrated into the food concept. Various hikes, guided tours or canoe tours through the surrounding area are also offered. Since the event takes place in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park, visitors must pay attention to a few things with regard to nature and environmental protection. For example, guests are encouraged to leave leftover groceries in a food sharing tent. Volunteers from Foodsharing eV then take care of their redistribution and provide information about food waste . Everything that is left over at the end of the festival they donate to the local food bank .

Folkert Koopmans, CEO of organizer FKP Scorpio, announced a one-year break after the A-Summer's Tale Festival 2019 and justified this with changed official requirements.
