The diocese of Bayeux ( Latin : Dioecesis Baiocensis ) of the Roman Catholic Church, located in France , with its seat in Bayeux , was founded in the 2nd century. It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Rouen as a suffragan .

With the Concordat of 1801 between Napoleon for the First French Republic and Pope Pius VII , the former diocese of Lisieux was abolished and parts of it were united with the diocese of Bayeux. Since 1854 a papal letter allows the Bishop of Bayeux to call himself “Bishop of Bayeux and Lisieux”.
