The 1953 stamp year of Deutsche Post Berlin comprised 18 special stamps , seven of which complement the series “Men from the History of Berlin”, which, however, belong to the 1952 year of philatelic terms . The definitive stamps of the Berliner Bauten series were supplemented this year by two values ​​of 4 and 20 pfennigs.

The nominal value of the stamps was DM 2.43  ; an additional DM 0.31 was paid for charitable purposes .
