The 2015/16 DHB Women's Cup was the 42nd edition of the most important German indoor handball cup competition for women. The defending champion was Buxtehuder SV . The 2016 DHB Cup winner was HC Leipzig with a 29:28 win against Borussia Dortmund .

None of the 12 Bundesliga teams of the 2014/15 season took part in the first round, the draw of which took place on June 27, 2015 as part of the annual general meeting of the Handball Bundesliga (women) . With 2 second division , 7 third division , 12 upper division and 4 national division, a total of 40 teams take part in the first round of the DHB Cup 2015/16. The games of the 1st round took place on 5./6. September 2015. The stated leagues of the teams correspond to the 2014/15 season. The winners of the individual games moved into the 2nd round.
