English national cricket team in South Africa in the 2009-10 season
The tour of the England cricket team to South Africa in the 2009/10 season took place from November 6, 2009 to January 18, 2010. The international cricket tour was part of the 2009/10 international cricket season and included four test matches , five ODIs and two Twenty20s . England won the ODI series 2-1, the Test and Twenty20 series finished 1-1.
prehistory
South Africa previously played a tour against Zimbabwe , for England it was the first tour after the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 . The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in England in the 2008 season . Originally five tests were planned, but these were shortened to four at the instigation of England.
