history

Kobyly was probably founded in the 13th century. The first written mention comes from the year 1317, when the place belonged together with Sedlisko and Radvanice to the goods of the Coming on Český Dub . In 1531 Johann von Wartenberg acquired the rule. Kobyly was sold to Zikmund Smiřický von Smiřice together with the Český Dub estate in 1591 , and in 1622 it became the property of Albrecht von Waldstein . After his murder in Eger , the goods were confiscated and handed over to Johann Ludwig Hektor von Isolani in 1635 . His daughter Regina gave the inheritance to the Ursuline monastery in Vienna in 1653 . From 1780 school lessons took place in a chalet in the village. After the abolition of the monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms, Kobyly belonged to the court chamber, from which Karl Prince Rohan acquired it in 1820 .

After the abolition of patrimonial Kobyly formed from 1850 with the districts Havlovice, Kojecko and Sedlisko a municipality in the political district of Turnov . In 1859, the community bought the chaluppe, which was taught, and expanded it into a school. In 1869 the village of Kobyly had 275 inhabitants; 778 people lived in the area of today's municipality. The old school was demolished in 1885 and replaced by a new building. Two years later, the Kobyly volunteer fire brigade was founded . Until 1928 the village belonged to the judicial district of Český Dub, which was then attached to Turnov. In 1951 Radvánice and Vorklebice were incorporated. At the beginning of 1961 the Okres Turnov was dissolved and Kobyly was assigned to the Okres Liberec . At the same time Janovice and Podhora came to the municipality as districts. In 1980 Kobyly was incorporated into Pěnčín . The community has existed again since 1990.
