Mercœur ( mercuer in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 245 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants call themselves Marcoeurois (es).

geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the left bank of the Dordogne in the heart of the Xaintrie Noire . The prefecture of the department, Tulle , is about 35 kilometers north and Argentat a good 10 kilometers north and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne about 15 kilometers southwest.

Neighboring municipalities of Mercœur are Hautefage in the north, Sexcles in the northeast, Camps-Saint-Mathurin-Léobazel in the east, Laval-de-Cère in the south, Altillac in the southwest, Reygade in the west and La Chapelle-Saint-Géraud in the northwest.
