Masour Ousmane Dembélé (born May 15, 1997 in Vernon ) is a French football player . The winger is under contract with FC Barcelona . In 2018 he became world champion with the French national team in Russia .

Dembélé's mother has Senegalese and Mauritanian roots. His father is from Mali .

Beginnings in France

Dembélé began playing football in 2004 in Évreux at AM Madeleine . From July 2009 he was active for around 15 months at Évreux FC , where he also played futsal . He then moved to the youth department of the Breton club Stade Rennes . There he was used from the 2014/15 season for its second team in the fifth-class Championnat de France Amateur 2 . In his first season Dembélé scored 13 goals in 18 appearances.

After four games in the 2015/16 season, Dembélé was pulled up to the first team. On November 6, 2015, he made his debut in a 2-0 win against SCO Angers in Ligue 1 , after being substituted on for Kamil Grosicki in the 86th minute . Two weeks later, Dembélé made his starting XI debut in a 2-2 home game against Girondins Bordeaux and scored the goal for the 1-0 lead. On March 6, 2016, he scored three times in a 4-1 home win against FC Nantes . After scoring twelve goals in 26 top division appearances in his first professional season, Dembélé was voted the best young player of the 2015/16 season by the Ligue 1 players in May 2016 .

Breakthrough at Borussia Dortmund

For the 2016/17 season , Dembélé was signed by Borussia Dortmund with a contract term until June 30, 2021 . On August 27, 2016, he made his debut in a 2-1 home win against 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga . Dembélé scored his first goal on September 20, 2016 in a 5-1 away win against VfL Wolfsburg . In the DFB Cup semi-final against FC Bayern Munich on April 26, 2017, he scored the winning goal to make it 3-2 for BVB, which was voted Goal of the Month for April . Dembélé also met once in the 2-1 win in the final against Eintracht Frankfurt on May 27, 2017 and won the trophy with his team . In his first Bundesliga season he scored six goals in 32 games and gave twelve assists. Change to FC Barcelona

After the FC Barcelona as a replacement of the record transfer fee in the amount of 222 million euros to Paris Saint-Germain migrated Neymar had been courted, lacked Dembélé on August 10, 2017 unexcused at the Dortmund team training. In November 2015, Dembélé played three times for the U19 national team.
