In Cihai , 用 is no longer listed as a radical, you can look it up there under 冂 (2 lines). In the compound symbol, 用 functions primarily as a sound carrier as in 佣 (yong = to be employed = 亻 person + 用 to use), 拥 (yong = to hug), 痈 (yong = carbuncle).
In two cases, 用 appears both as a meaning and as a sound carrier, namely in the forms 甭 (beng = do not use = 不 bu = do not + 用 yong = use), which were originally composed of two characters, and the equivalent, modified form with 勿 (wu = not) in the head position.
