Bohain-en-Vermandois ( Dutch : Bohan ) is a French municipality with 5664 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saint-Quentin and the municipality of the Pays du Vermandois .
geography
The municipality of Bohain-en-Vermandois is located in the north of the department, 20 kilometers northeast of Saint-Quentin and 29 kilometers southeast of Cambrai .

Economy and Infrastructure
Bohain is located on the railway line from Saint-Quentin to Cambray or to Maubeuge (part of the former French Northern Railway ) and was an important location for the textile industry in the 19th century . Gradually, however, the factories were closed. The result of the structural change was a wave of emigration and high unemployment, which is gradually being counteracted through diversification . Various companies such as Nexans (cables), Taine (construction) and Dutoit (baked goods) have now settled in Bohain. The ZAC économique du Moulin Mayeux industrial park, covering 24 hectares, was built in the south of the municipality, and shopping centers have been set up there.
