Deusen is the statistical district 81 and at the same time a district in the north-west of the city of Dortmund . It lies on both sides of the Emscher . The Dortmund-Ems Canal runs through Deusen , and there are some docks of the Dortmund harbor in the area of the district .
history
Today's Dortmund district of Deusen was first mentioned in a document in 1220 as part of the bailiwick of the Count of Altena-Isenberg . By 1512 at the latest, Deusen belonged to the county of Dortmund , which in turn belonged to the imperial city of Dortmund .
The industrial age began for the until then agricultural region in 1872. In that year, the sinking of a shaft of the Fürst Hardenberg colliery began. As a result of the mining under the district, some areas of the village have sunk by up to 24 meters. ( Mountain damage )
After Deusen belonged to the Castrop office for many years , and later to the Mengede office , the place was incorporated into the city of Dortmund on June 10, 1914 .

Leisure activities
The resident sports club is the Turn- und Sportverein Freiheit Deusen 1910 eV In addition to the football department, the club also offers numerous other sports such as dancing, badminton and volleyball.
The EDG - Mountain Bike Arena is located on the Deusenberg , which is up to 50 meters high , a waste dump that was closed in 1992 and now renatured . On a total of 6.6 kilometers of routes with different levels of difficulty, there are ideal training opportunities for the various mountain bike disciplines.
The local volunteer fire brigade (fire engine 29) also offers a good opportunity for meaningful leisure activities.
