Gommecourt is a French municipality with 674 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rambouillet and the canton of Bonnières-sur-Seine . The inhabitants are called Gommecourtois .

geography

Gommecourt is the northernmost municipality in the Yvelines department. It is located about 59 kilometers west-northwest of Paris on the Seine on the border with the Eure department . The Epte limits the community in the north. Gommecourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Geneviève-lès-Gasny in the north and north-west, Gasny in the north-east, La Roche-Guyon in the east and north-east, Freneuse in the south and south-east, Bennecourt in the south-west and Limetz-Villez in the west.
