Kulikowo ( Russian Куликово , German  Elchdorf , until 1906: Pojerstieten (near Wargen) ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Selenogradsk in Zelenogradsky District .

The place Kulikowo is not to be confused with the place of the same name Kulikowo (Strobjenen) , which is also part of the Zelenogradsk district and is located about twelve kilometers further north.

Geographical location

Kulikowo is 16 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) on the municipal road 27K-335, which from the regional road 27A-032 - once the German Reichsstraße 143 - from Kaliningrad via Cholmogorowka (Fuchsberg) and Pereslavskoje (Drugehnen) in the direction of Svetlogorsk (Rauschen) , branches off in a northerly direction and runs to Alexejewka (Auschlacken) . There is no train connection.

history

In 1874 the rural community, then called Pojerstieten , was incorporated into the newly created administrative district Groß Mischen (today Russian: Swobodnoje). This belonged to the district of Fischhausen (from 1939 to 1945 to the district of Samland ) in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . On April 17, 1906 Pojerstieten was renamed "Elchdorf" - probably for reasons of confusion with the place of the same name near Kumehnen (today in Russian: Kumatschowo). On May 7, 1909, the rural community of Elchdorf expanded to include the Auschlacken manor district (Russian: Alexejewka), which was incorporated. The population of Elchdorf was 198 in 1910.

On September 30, 1928, Elchdorf received another "growth" with the incorporation of the Parschwitz estate (no longer existing today). The population climbed to 299 by 1933 and was 275 in 1939.

In 1945 Elchdorf came to the Soviet Union with the whole of northern East Prussia following the war . In 1947 the place was named Kulikowo and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Pereslavski selski Sowet in Primorsk Raion . From 2005 to 2015 Kulikowo belonged to the rural municipality Pereslavskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the city district of Zelenogradsk.

church

Until 1945 Elchdorf was parish with its mostly Protestant population in the parish of the church in Wargen (today Russian: Kotelnikowo ), which belonged to the parish of Fischhausen (Primorsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Kulikowo is in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
