List of the members of the Constituent Assembly

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On May 5, 1789, Louis XVI opened the General Estates of 1789 , which only a few weeks later saw themselves as the National Assembly of France and shortly afterwards as the Constituent Assembly to give France a constitution. This parliament had 1154 members, of which 291 belonged to the clergy, 285 to the nobility and 578 to the third estate. However, through replacement nominations, the list could include more than these 1154 personalities. The MPs are listed here by status and then alphabetically in the status. For this purpose, the most formative part of the surname was taken. Finally, the membership in a political club is noted.
