List of restitution cases
The list of restitution cases is a supplement to the article Restitution of looted art and enumerates cases in which works of fine art were returned to former owners or their legal successors or the return was negotiated. Most of it is Nazi-looted art , many of which were restituted after the Washington Declaration of 1998.
The list is initially broken down according to the countries in which the works of art were located when the claim for return was made and on whose legal basis this was negotiated. The tables can be sorted according to the names of the artists (column 2), according to the names of the former owners and collections (column 3) or according to the date of return (column 4: result). The cases in which the restitution has not yet been decided or has been rejected appear in the sorting of column 4 at the end of the respective list.
