The 2010-11 NBA season marked the National Basketball Association's 65th season . The regular season began on October 26, 2010 and ended on April 13, 2011. This was followed by the NBA playoffs from April 16, 2011, which ended on June 12 with the last game of the 2011 NBA Finals .
Season course
Regular season
The regular season began in late October and was opened with the game of the Miami Heat against the Boston Celtics , followed by the championship celebration of the Los Angeles Lakers and their game against the Houston Rockets . On December 25, 2010, that is Christmas, five games were played, including the encounter between Boston and Orlando and the encounter between the reigning champions Los Angeles and the Miami Heat.
For the first time this season, a regular season game was played on European soil, on March 4th and 5th, 2011, the Toronto Raptors played two regular season games against the New Jersey Nets in London's O2 Arena on two days in a row . The New Jersey Nets were able to prevail in both games of the season and won on March 4, 2011 with 116: 103 and on March 5, 2011 after triple overtime with 137: 136 against the Toronto Raptors.
All-Star Game
The All-Star Game took place on February 20, 2011 in front of 17,163 spectators at the Staples Center in Los Angeles . The selection of the west won the 60th edition of the All-Star Games with 148: 143. The game's MVP was Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers .
Playoffs
The playoffs began on April 16, 2011 and ended with the finals , which were played from May 31 to June 12, 2011.
