Neuwiller (Alsatian Neiwiller , German Neu-Weiler ) is a French commune with 463 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Mulhouse , the canton of Saint-Louis and the municipality of Saint-Louis Agglomération .
geography
The community of Neuwiller is located on the southeastern edge of the Sundgau , about seven kilometers southwest of Basel city center. Only about two kilometers of the municipal boundary are connected to French territory, in the north, east and south Neuwiller is surrounded by Swiss territory.
The neighboring Swiss communities of Neuwiller are Schönenbuch in the northwest, Allschwil in the northeast, Oberwil in the east and Biel-Benken in the south, the French neighboring communities Leymen in the southwest and Hagenthal-le-Bas in the west.
