Botswana took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis Atlanta with seven male athletes in four competitions in two sports.

It was Botswana's fifth participation in the Summer Olympics since 1980 .

Flag bearer

Track and field athlete Justice Dipeba carried the flag of Botswana during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
