Djibouti took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with five athletes in four competitions in two sports.
Since 1984 it was Djibouti's fourth participation in the Summer Olympics .
Flag bearer
Marathon runner Ahmed Salah carried the flag of Djibouti during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
Attendees
The youngest participant in Djibouti was the athlete Ali Ibrahim at 25 years and 165 days, the oldest was Ahmed Salah at 39 years and 217 days, who also started in athletics.
