Regional calendar for the German-speaking area
The regional calendar for the German-speaking area is the German extension of the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church , which, in addition to the festivals of the Roman general calendar, contains numerous commemorative days of saints who have worked in the region or are particularly venerated there. It applies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as in the dioceses of Luxembourg, Liège, Metz, Strasbourg and Bolzano-Brixen. In individual dioceses and religious orders, it is supplemented by their own celebrations . The board of directors regulates the application for the respective diocese .
The festivals and memorial days of the regional calendar
The days of remembrance are listed in the course of the year ( proprium ), which are celebrated in the church year according to their rank . The own celebrations of the regional calendar are marked with an *.
In the area of the German Bishops' Conference , required holidays are the following:

- Feast of St. Stephen (December 26th)
- Solemnity of the Blessed Mother Mary (January 1st)
