Saint-Genis-d'Hiersac is a western French community with 907 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Cognac and the canton of Val de Nouère (until 2015: canton of Hiersac ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Genissois .

Saint-Genis-d'Hiersac is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Angoulême in the cultural landscape of the Angoumois . The river Nouère limits the municipality to the west. Saint-Genis-d'Hiersac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Genac-Bignac in the north, Vouharte in the north and north-east, Montignac-Charente in the north-east, Marsac in the east, Asnières-sur-Nouère in the south, and Saint-Amant-de-Nouère in the West and south-west and Saint-Cybardeaux to the west.
