Marsac Town Hall (Mairie)

Marsac is a French municipality with 827 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Angoulême and the canton of Val de Nouère (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amant-de-Boixe ). The inhabitants are called Marsacois .

geography

Marsac is located about eleven kilometers north-northwest of Angoulême on the Charente . Marsac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Genis-d'Hiersac in the north and west, Montignac-Charente in the north and north-east, Vars in the east, Vindelle in the south and south-east and Asnières-sur-Nouère in the south-west.

The former route nationale 139 (D939) runs through the municipality .
