Saint-Romain ( Occitan Sent novel ) is a western French community with 529 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Angoulême and the canton of Tude-et-Lavalette (until 2015 Aubeterre-sur-Dronne ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Rominois .

Saint-Romain is about 42 kilometers south of Angoulême in the border region to the Périgord . Saint-Romain is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bellon in the north and north-west, Pillac in the north, Laprade in the east, Aubeterre-sur-Dronne in the south-east, Bonnes and Les Essards in the south, Rouffiac in the south-west, Orival in the west and Courlac in the west and north-west .
