The inhabitants are called Rouffiacais .

Rouffiac is located in the south of the historic Angoumois Province , about 39 kilometers south-southwest of Angoulême . Rouffiac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Orival in the north and northwest, Saint-Romain in the north and east, Les Essards in the south and southeast and Saint-Quentin-de-Chalais in the south and west.
