Rioux-Martin is located in the south of the historic Angoumois province , about 52 kilometers south-southwest of Angoulême . Rioux-Martin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Yviers in the north and north-west, Chalais in the east and north-east, Saint-Avit in the east, Médillac in the south-east and La Genétouze in the south and west.
